EVALUATION OF EXISTING COURT FACILITIES WITH RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE PLANNING OF IMPROVED FACILITIES TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE SYSTEM.
Abstract
A PRESENTATION OF THE FINDINGS OF A STUDY ALONG WITH ANALYSES AND CONCLUSIONS WHICH ARE THE BASIS OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS. THESE PERTAIN TO SEVERAL KEY ASPECTS OF THE COURT OPERATIONS, ALL OF WHICH ARE RELATED TO VOLUME OF CASES AND MAGNITUDE OF SERVICE, AND HENCE TO FACILITIES REQUIREMENTS. THE RECOMMENDATIONS, IN A PROPOSED PRIORITY ORDERING, ARE-TO REDUCE THE NEED FOR SECURE DETENTION BEDS, TO IMPROVE COURT EFFICIENCY, TO EXPAND FACILITIES, TO ADD SERVICES AND FACILITIES IF COURT JURISDICTION IS EXTENDED TO 17-YEAR OLDS, AND TO EXPAND COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
