REPORT ON THE WECHSLER-BELLEVUE TESTING OF 427 FRENCH JUVENILE DELINQUENTS 14 TO 17 YEARS OLD.
Abstract
IT IS REGRETTABLE THAT THE WECHSLER-BELLEVUE TEST HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN TO THE FRENCH POPULATION AS A WHOLE, OF ALL AGES. LACKING THE INFORMATION THIS WOULD PROVIDE, IT CANNOT BE ASSUMED THAT THE FRENCH POPULATION WILL DEVELOP AT THE SAME RATE AS THE AMERICAN AS THEY GROW OLDER. IN POINT OF FACT, TAKING OVER THE RESULTS OF THE TESTING OF AMERICANS WITHOUT ALTERATION INTRODUCED A SYSTEMATIC ERROR IN THE PRESENT TEST. CONSEQUENTLY, THE FRENCH JUVENILE DELINQUENTS' VERBAL INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT SCORES WERE OVERVALUED BY ABOUT FIVE POINTS WITH RESPECT TO THEIR PERFORMANCE INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT SCORES. --IN FRENCH
