Abstract
DISCUSSED ARE CIRCUMSTANCES AND FACTORS WHICH CAN CONTRIBUTE TO INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENTS. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A POLICE INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT UNIT AND FOR THE PROVISION OF TECHNICAL TRAINING FOR POLICE AND OTHERS IN THE PREVENTION AND DEFENSE AGAINST SUCH ACCIDENTS. INCLUDED ARE STATISTICS ON OIL TRAFFIC SINCE 1950 AND OIL SPILLS IN 1972 IN WEST GERMANY. --IN GERMAN
