CASE HISTORIES ILLUSTRATING PRACTICAL AND LEGAL PROBLEMS IN THE DEPLOYMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS OF AGENTS SINCE THE MASSIVE INCREASE IN DRUG OFFENSES AFTER 1969.
Abstract
THE BASIC CONSPIRATORIAL TACTICS OF OFFENDERS IN THE ILLEGAL DRUG MARKET ARE LISTED. THE PROBLEMS OF UNDERCOVER POLICE OPERATIONS DERIVE FROM THE SECRETIVE NATURE OF THE MARKET SITUATION IN WHICH SELLER AND BUYER INTERACT. THE PROBLEMS INCLUDE SECURING LEGAL EVIDENCE, PRESERVING THE SECRECY OF THE AGENT'S ACTIVITY, AND DETERMINING THE STATUS OF ILLEGAL ACTS COMMITTED BY AGENTS IN PURSUING THEIR ASSIGNMENTS. --IN GERMAN
