This manual provides step-by-step instructions for use by the parents of a missing child.
Abstract
Parents are advised to check immediately all places where the child could be: at home; in the neighborhood; and in the larger community. After determining that the child has probably been abducted or run away, parents should compose themselves and then ask a family member, a minister, or a friend to come to help with communications. They should next contact the police and other organizations that may help locate the child. Further action steps will depend on whether they determine that the child has been abducted by a stranger, has been abducted by an acquaintance, or has run away.
