Abstract
COVERED ARE THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF EVIDENCE, THE RELEVANCY REQUIREMENT, THE TYPES OF WITNESS EXAMINATION, AND THE OPINION RULE GOVERNING OPINIONS AND CONCLUSIONS OF NONEXPERT WITNESSES. THE MEANINGS OF 'DIRECT' AND 'CIRCUMSTANTIAL' EVIDENCE ARE DEFINED AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL, TESTIMONIAL, AND DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE IS DESCRIBED. THE TYPES OF WITNESS EXAMINATION DISCUSSED INCLUDES DIRECT EXAMINATION, CROSS-EXAMINATION, REDIRECT AND RECROSS-EXAMINATION, AND VOIR DIRE EXAMINATION. ALSO CONSIDERED ARE WHAT CONSTITUTES A RESPONSIVE ANSWER AND WHAT DETERMINES THE COMPETENCY OF A WITNESS, ESPECIALLY A CHILD, TO TESTIFY. A COMBINATION SYLLABUS/STUDY GUIDE ACCOMPANIES THIS FILM.
