DESCRIPTION OF EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM OF RE-EDUCATION OF YOUNG DELINQUENTS IN FRANCE.
Abstract
THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW PROGRAM FOLLOWING THE TAKE OVER OF INSTITUTIONS FOR DELINQUENT GIRLS BY THE GOVERNMENT AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPERVISED EDUCATION. INNOVATIVE AND FLEXIBLE NEW APPROACHES WERE DEVISED, FOCUSING ON AVOIDING THE ABRUPT CHANGES IN LIFE STYLE THAT ACCOMPANY INSTITUTIONALIZATION AND ATTEMPTING TO ENSURE THAT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ADOLESCENT AND THE YOUNG TEACHERS WORKING ON THE PROGRAM WAS USEFUL IN IDENTIFYING THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF EACH OF THE GIRLS. PERSONAL RE-ADJUSTMENT, EDUCATION AND TRAINING, AND THE PROVISION OF ACCOMODATION WERE ALSO STRESSED. --IN FRENCH
