This video, Youth Under Siege: America's Deadly Drug Trends, discusses the problem of drugs and the growing involvement of children in the use of illegal drugs.
Abstract
This 90 minute video, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, Weed & Seed Programs, and the National Guard, presents a panel discussion on the growing problem of adolescents' involvement with illegal drugs such as heroin, crack cocaine, and methamphetamines. The teleconference was held at Fort Rucker, AL, and hosted by Kenneth Walker from National Public Radio. The panel includes Steven Rickman, Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Justice Weed & Seed Program; Dr. Jack Riley from the Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring Program at the U.S. Department of Justice; Dr. Mark Stanford, a lecturer in pharmacology at the University of California at Berkeley; and Lisa Figuero, an outreach worker and graduate of a teen drug program. The panel members discuss crime prevention and drug prevention programs available for use by communities.
