About the Tribal Financial Management Center
Description

The Tribal Financial Management Center (TFMC) provides training, technical assistance, and resources to support American Indian and Alaska Native communities as they successfully manage the financial aspects of their federal awards. Financial specialists are available to provide services (at no cost) to tribal grantees including onsite and offsite requests for technical assistance and general questions through the Virtual Support Center.

TFMC offers the following services and resources (at no cost) to OJP tribal grantees:

Customized Financial Management Technical Assistance

Financial and Technical Assistance Specialists are uniquely trained and qualified to support tribal grantees, with the following: 

  • Grant Award Modifications (GAMs)
  • Re-allocating funds to meet project goals/pacing to project timeline
  • Addressing award conditions
  • Preparing for an upcoming enhanced desk review by an OJP Grant Manager
  • Providing orientation to new grant administration personnel on grant fiscal management
  • Enhancing and strengthening organizational financial management capacity, on budgeting, bookkeeping and accounting, fraud prevention, financial systems, policies and procedures, and oversight, and reporting, monitoring and records retention
  • Preparing for an OIG audit
