Abstract
THE FIVE BASIC ELEMENTS ARE THE CENTRAL CONTROL STATION, ENERGY SOURCES, HUMAN-CONTROLLED SWITCHES, ALARM-GIVING DEVICES, AND ALARM-ACTIVATING SYSTEMS. THE OUTLINE LISTS THE POSSIBLE TYPES OF EACH ELEMENT. ALSO INCLUDED ARE A LIST OF DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS WHICH MAKE ALARMS DISTINCT FROM OTHER TYPES OF SIGNALLING SYSTEMS. --IN GERMAN
