This report presents 1995 statistical summaries for Illinois' circuit courts, the Appellate Court, and the Supreme Court.
Abstract
The report on the circuit courts includes a map of the judicial circuits and a directory of circuit clerks, along with a graphical presentation of 5-year trends in total caseload and selected case categories. Circuit court caseload statistics show caseload summaries by circuit, case filing ratio (judge/population), caseload statistics by county, the age of pending cases by category, law jury caseload summaries by circuit and county, time lapse for case filing to date of verdict, and felony dispositions and sentences by county. Data are also provided on circuit clerk revenue, expenditures, and distribution by county. The report on circuit courts includes as well a graphical presentation of 5-year trends for circuit court adult and juvenile probation. Tabular data encompass caseloads and various dispositions for adult and juvenile probation. In addition to a graphical presentation of 5-year trends for total caseload and caseload by appellate district, the report on the Appellate Court presents a caseload summary and case dispositions by district, as well as method of case disposition, time lapse between case filing and brief filing to disposition, and opinions. The report on the Supreme Court contains 5-year trends in caseloads and 1995 data on case filings and dispositions.
