EXPLANATION OF THE ENLISTMENT AND INDUCTION STANDARDS CONCERNING INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OR ADJUDICATED DELINQUENT OR ARE FACING CHARGES.
Abstract
ACCORDING TO ARMY REGULATIONS, INDIVIDUALS, WHO HAVE BEEN EITHER CONVICTED OR ADJUDICATED, MUST OBTAIN A MORAL WAIVER BEFORE ENLISTING OR BEING INDUCTED. THE GRANTING OF A WAIVER IS DISCRETIONARY AND IS DEPENDENT UPON SUCH FACTORS AS THE NATURE OF THE OFFENSE AND THE DEGREE OF REHABILITATION EXHIBITED. ENLISTMENT AND INDUCTION IS PROHIBITED WHEN CRIMINAL OR JUVENILE CHARGES ARE PENDING, AND WHEN CHARGES HAVE BEEN EITHER DROPPED OR DISMISSED UPON THE CONDITION OF ENLISTMENT.
