All relevant US statutory sources in the areas of family and juvenile justice as well as scholarly publications were reviewed as source texts. The United States has the most jurisdictionally complex legal system in the area of family law. The most common terms have been included throughout the text for ease of use. The book contains a user's guide with flow charts that provide an overview of the procedural steps in family law and juvenile justice practice. Each term is followed by a definition.
