Commentaries and questions are presented from the 17th International Congress of Penal Law in the areas of criminological data, corruption, and criminal-political aspects in consideration of the international aspects of the criminal law, and to improve the penal protection against corruption and related offenses in international business relations.
Abstract
Corruption and related offenses have become more and more important in international business relations due to the internationalization of the economic system. These offenses can damage individuals, business enterprises, national economies, states, and societies. This commentary takes a look at the current situation and what can be done to improve the penal protection against corruption and related offenses in international business relations through questions put forth in connection with the criminal law of corruption and related offenses committed in connection with corruption such as those by public officials, property offenses, and business delinquency. Questions cover the areas of criminological data, corruption related to the bribery of public officials and employees of business enterprises, extent of protection of penal provisions, and international agreements, other related offenses, and criminal-political aspects.
