CONCLUSIONS FROM A STUDY OF RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND CLERICAL ACTIVITIES IN THE COURT SYSTEMS OF MISSOURI AND COLORADO.
Abstract
IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS IN BOTH STATE COURT SYSTEMS WAS HINDERED BY EXCESSIVE VERBOSITY IN RECORDS KEEPING. CLERKS KEPT DETAILED RECORDS OF TRADITIONAL LEGAL INFORMATION, BUT RARELY COLLECTED DATA ON THEIR TIME USAGE, RESOURCE ALLOCATION, AND DECISION PERFORMANCE FOR MANAGEMENT PURPOSES. SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS ARE OFFERED FOR IMPROVING THE MANAGEMENT OF THESE COURT SYSTEMS.
