THIS AUDIOVISUAL PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO TEACH THE POLICE PHOTOGRAPHER HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH THE CRIME SCENE AND HOW TO MAKE SURE THAT HIS PHOTOGRAPHS HOLD UP IN COURT.
Abstract
CRIME SCENE PHOTOGRAPHY IS AN AUDIOVISUAL TRAINING AID DESIGNED TO TEACH THE POLICE PHOTOGRAPHER HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH THE CRIME SCENE AND HOW TO MAKE SURE HIS PHOTOGRAPHS ARE ACCEPTED AS EVIDENCE. THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS OF CRIME-SCENE PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE TECHNIQUES NEEDED TO SECURE COMPLETE COVERAGE ARE PRESENTED. THE NARRATOR STRESSES THE NEED TO SUPPORT ALL PICTURES WITH NOTES AND SKETCHES. CLEAR, PRACTICAL ADVICE ON SUCH TECHNICAL MATTERS AS OBTAINING SHARP NEGATIVES, LIGHTING, AND EXPOSURE MAKE UP THE BULK OF THE PROGRAM. THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS CAUTIONED TO PHOTOGRAPH EACH SCENE WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT EXPOSURES. THE USE OF THE FLASH IS RECOMMENDED IN ALMOST EVERY SITUATION SINCE, AS THE NARRATOR OBSERVES, EVEN THE BEST EXPOSURE METERS CAN GIVE INACCURATE READINGS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING EQUIPMENT IN GOOD ORDER IS PRESENTED BRIEFLY. A FULLY ILLUSTRATED INSTRUCTOR'S GUIDE DESCRIBES THE MATERIALS PROVIDED, EQUIPMENT NEEDED, PROJECTOR AND RECORDER ACCESSORIES, SUGGESTED WAYS TO USE THE PROGRAM, HINTS ON PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT, (SNI ABSTRACT)
