REFERENCE COMMENTARY ON SUPREME COURT DECISIONS DURING THE LAST DECADE.
Abstract
SEVERAL HUNDRED CASES DECIDED IN THE FIRST NINE TERMS OF THE 1960S AND THE SUBSEQUENT TWO TERMS ARE REVIEWED. EACH IS CONCISELY ANALYZED AND ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO EARLIER CASES NOW OVERRULED OR DISTINGUISHED AND TO THE VIEWS OF DISSENTING JUSTICES. THE LANDMARK CASES ARE PLACED IN HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF THE LONG JUDICIAL STRUGGLE TO INSURE THE RIGHTS OF CRIMINAL SUSPECTS THAT BEGAN ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO.
