CASE STUDY OF A POSITIVE CRIMINAL IDENTIFICATION MADE BY MEANS OF LATENT FINGERPRINT COMPARISON UTILIZING WEST GERMANY'S COMPUTERIZED PERSONAL APPEARANCE DATA SYSTEM.
Abstract
THE COOPERATIVE EFFORTS OF THE CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR AND DACTYLOSCOPIST IN USING THE AUTOMATED CRIMINAL IDENTIFICATION FILES ARE NOTED. THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS A NEED FOR THE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE SEARCH CAPABILITIES IN MORE DETAILED AREAS, SUCH AS IN SEARCHING FOR PECULIAR FEATURES OF THE HANDS AND FINGERS (E.G., AMPUTATIONS).
