This is a directory of legal aid and defender offices in the United States and territories as of 1998/99.
Abstract
The Directory of Legal Aid and Defender Offices is published biannually by the National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA). The NLADA maintains a comprehensive database of providers in the legal services and indigent defense community. That database is the foundation for the Directory. The Directory includes information concerning NLADA member services, defender and civil legal services, and NLADA Awards. It lists organizations that provide civil legal assistance and support services to persons unable to retain private counsel, criminal representation to persons unable to retain private counsel, and legal support services. The support services include national and State resource centers, statewide Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts programs, statewide pro bono offices, American Bar Association resources, and State and national defender resources organizations. Resources are listed alphabetically by State or territory, and within those lists alphabetically by city.
