Several examples of document worksheets designed to assist in the recording of information from handwriting, typewriting, photocopier, ink, and paper analysis examinations are described in detail.
Abstract
The sheets include the handwriting comparison worksheet, the typewriter comparison worksheet, the photocopier comparison worksheet, the ink analysis worksheet, and the paper analysis worksheet. Each sheet is explained in detail with attention to including as much information as possible about a particular document while recording this information in a standard, readily accessible format for the courts, investigators, and attorneys. If designed and used properly, worksheets may serve two purposes: (1) as an objective guide to expedite proper scientific procedure, and (2) as a record of technical reference and reasoning for quick review when conferring with investigators and preparing for court testimony. These designs were prepared to meet the standards of quality assurance demanded by the courts and those certifying organizations offering laboratory accreditation programs. Forms and 3 references
