Abstract
DRUG OFFENDERS ARE DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING GROUPSMARIJUANA OFFENDERS, OPIUM OFFENDERS, USERS OF HALLUCINOGENS, AMPHETAMINES, AND BARBITURATES, AND MULTIPLE DRUG OFFENDERS. DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION COVERS SUCH ITEMS AS SEX, ETHNIC GROUP, AGE, PLACE OF RESIDENCE, MILITARY RECORD, EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT. OFFENSE DATA INCLUDES THE NUMBER OF OFFENSES, LENGTH OF SENTENCE, AND SEGREGATIVE CLASSIFICATION. INFORMATION ON INSTITUTIONAL BEHAVIOR INCLUDES COMMUTATION-TIME CLASSIFICATION AND PRIOR CONFINEMENTS. APPENDED MATERIAL INCLUDES DEMOGRAPHIC DATA ON THE TOTAL INMATE POPULATION AND DRUG DEFINITIONS.
