REPORT WRITTEN TO ASSIST COMMUNITY LEADERS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE OVERALL ASSESSMENT OF DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAMS IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
Abstract
PROCEDURES ARE RECOMMENDED TO ASSIST IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EVALUATION AND ANALYSIS CAPABILITY. IDENTIFICATION IS MADE OF PERTINENT TREATMENT SYSTEM GOALS, OBJECTIVES, AND CRITERIA. PROCEDURES TO ASSESS THE EXTENT AND IMPACT OF DRUG USE IN THE COMMUNITY ARE SUGGESTED, ALONG WITH GUIDELINES TO COLLECT OPERATIONAL AND COST DATA ON INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS. ALSO INCLUDED ARE PROCEDURES TO COMPARE ALTERNATIVE MIXES OF PROGRAMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROJECTING FUTURE PERFORMANCE AND COST.
