Abstract
One map shows seizures per million population by police force area, and another map displays year-on-year change in the number of drug seizures reported in 1998-99 by police force area. Five "seizure" tables present data on seizures of controlled drugs by police force or other organizations; rates of seizure of controlled drugs by police forces; seizures of controlled drugs by police force area and other organization and drug type; rates of seizure of controlled drugs by police force and drug type; and quantities of controlled drugs seized by police force and other organizations and drug type. Eight tables pertain to drug offenders. They present data on persons found guilty, cautioned, given a fiscal fine, or dealt with by compounding for drug offenses by police area or other authority and year. A map shows the proportion of drug offenders cautioned by police force area, and another map displays the proportion of drug offenders sentenced to immediate custody by police force area.
