DISCUSSES LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE HIGHER EDUCATION LEVEL AND THE CONFUSION CREATED BY HAVING DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROGRAMS DEVELOPING INDEPENDENTLY OF ONE ANOTHER.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR PRESENTS A CURSORY DESCRIPTION OF THREE TYPES OF PROGRAMS - CERTIFICATE, ASSOCIATE OF ARTS, AND BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS. IT IS NOTED THAT AN INDIVIDUAL OFTEN FINDS DIFFICULTY IN DETERMINING WHICH PROGRAM BEST FITS HIS NEEDS, AND OFTEN ENDS UP LOSING CREDITS AS A RESULT OF TRANSFERRING FROM ONE PROGRAM TO ANOTHER. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT WHEN AGENCIES MAKE EDUCATIONAL CONTRACTS WITH INDIVIDUALS, THEY SHOULD SPELL OUT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF EDUCATION, AND COMPENSATE ACCORDINGLY.
