Module 2, "Recognizing Elder Abuse," prepares students to recognize various types of elder abuse and their impacts on elderly victims. Module 3, "Understanding Victims of Elder Abuse," focuses on the effects of elder abuse on victims, reasons why victims may be reluctant to report their abuse to police, and factors in various cultures and subcultures that may influence how victims respond to their abuse. Module 4, "Communicating with Elder Victims," enables students to become proficient in communicating with victims of elder abuse. Students will learn communication strategies that are generally effective with elderly victims, questions that should be asked, and guidelines for responding in the course of interactive conversations.
