Abstract
The text examines theoretical and practical approaches to translation with emphasis on the conceptual differences between languages, the concept of registers, the procedures used in translating, and sources of assistance in producing translations. It also explains English and French concepts of law including private law, criminal law, public law, and common law. Further sections explain legislation as a source of law; the nature and role of courts; different types of attorneys; and the investigation, prosecution, and punishment of crime.
