SUGGESTIONS ON RECOGNITION OF THE INDUSTRIAL SPY, METHODS OF INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE, AND TECHNIQUES OF COUNTERINTELLIGENCE ARE PROVIDED.
Abstract
IT IS NOTED THAT ACCESS TO THE TARGET IS THE ONLY CHARACTERISTIC THAT ALL SPIES HAVE IN COMMON, AND THAT THIS PROVIDES THE KEY TO UNDERSTANDING ESPIONAGE DIRECTED AGAINST CORPORATE TARGETS. THE AUTHOR ARGUES THAT THE ONLY EFFECTIVE METHOD OF STOPPING AN INDUSTRIAL SPY IS TO ANTICIPATE THE SPY'S TARGET AND METHODOLOGY. IN THIS WAY, SECURITY STAFF CAN WORK TO PROTECT POSSIBLE TARGETS AND CAN INITIATE SPECIFIC COUNTERMEASURES AGAINST THE ESPIONAGE TECHNIQUES.
