Abstract
THE MEANING AND PURPOSE OF PERFORMANCE EVALUATION ARE DEFINED AND DISCUSSED. RECENT TRENDS IN PERFORMANCE EVALUATION ARE DESCRIBED BRIEFLY. TEN TRADITIONAL EVALUATION SYSTEMS THAT HAVE OR COULD BE APPLIED TO ATTORNEYS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. SOME GENERAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ATTORNEY GENERALS, SUCH AS THE NEED FOR TOP MANAGEMENT SUPPORT FREQUENCY OF EVALUATION, AND DESIGN OF EVALUATION FORMS, ARE ALSO CONSIDERED.
