Abstract
IDENTIFIABLE MASS SPECTRA OF MORPHINE, CODEINE, THEBAINE, AND PAPAVERINE WERE OBTAINED BY A GAS CHROMATOGRAPHIC AND MASS SPECTRAL COMPUTER ANALYSIS OF A STANDARD OPIUM SAMPLE. USING THESE STANDARDS, THE PRESENCE OF THREE MAJOR OPIUM ALKALOIDS IN EACH OF TWO ILLICIT SAMPLES WAS DEMONSTRATED BY THEIR MASS SPECTRA.
