Abstract
THE INTRODUCTORY SECTIONS PROVIDE A REVIEW OF THE LEGISLATIVE HISTORY BEHIND THE 1970 FEDERAL DRUG ACT AND ATTEMPTS TO EXPLAIN AND AMPLIFY THE MEANING OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT. THE ANALYSIS OF THE ACT ELUCIDATES ON THE LEGAL CONSTRAINTS ON THE MANUFACTURERS, SUPPLIERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS OF THESE DRUGS. IT DESCRIBES THE LIABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PHYSICIANS WHO DISPENSE DRUGS COVERED BY THE ACT. FURTHERMORE, IT PROVIDES A BASIC DESCRIPTION OF THIS FEDERAL LAW WHICH SHOULD BE A USEFUL REFERENCE FOR DRUG LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.
