Abstract
SEVERAL CRITERIA CAN BE APPLIED TO A RELIABLE SYSTEM OR DEVICE, INCLUDING OPERATION WHEN STIMULATED BY AN INTRUDER, LOW NUISANCE ALARM RATE, AND THE ABILITY TO WITHSTAND THE COUNTERMEASURES OF THE INTELLIGENT CRIMINAL. THE SYSTEMS COVERED ARE ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DEVICES, PHOTOELECTRIC SYSTEMS, PHOTOCONDUCTIVE SYSTEMS, AUDIO DETECTION, AUDIO MONITORING, VIBRATION DETECTION, AND SIGNALING SYSTEMS.
