This manual is designed to help individuals, agencies, and organizations interested in preventing and intervening in youth violence to locate appropriate violence prevention/intervention resources.
          Abstract
This guide is based on widely accepted prevention principles: collaboration is essential for effective youth intervention; efforts to reduce and eliminate violence among youth should seek to enhance protective factors that have proven to foster resiliency through the contexts of family, school, and community; asset- building provides youth with skills, abilities, and confidence that stay with them into adulthood; and a variety of factors contribute to the development of violent youths, so that prevention and intervention efforts must be broadly focused. This manual lists resources related to collaboration and community partnerships; published directories and online databases; program planning models, curricula, handbooks, and other reference materials; organizations and vendors; and sources of technical assistance.
