This annual report provides data on the Huron County (Ohio) juvenile justice system.
Abstract
This annual report provides information on the "balanced approach to juvenile Justice for delinquent and unruly children" implemented by the Huron County Juvenile Court. Issues addressed include: the number of hearing and trials conducted; comparison of detention costs over the last 5 years; community placements; number of youth committed to department of youth service including community correctional facilities; complaints docketed in 2009 and a comparison to 2008; sources of abused, dependent, and neglected complaints; disposition of abused, dependent, and neglected children; violations named on delinquency, unruly, and traffic complaints; sources of delinquency, unruly, and traffic complaints, residences of delinquent, unruly, and traffic offenders; ages of delinquency, unruly, and traffic offenders; and dispositions of delinquent, unruly, and traffic complaints. In the category of court services, information covered includes: internships; the Study Group Program; the mediation program; intervention court; the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program; the Community Service Learning Program, and the Reach Our Youth (ROY) non-profit volunteer organization.
