Abstract
TO STRENGTHEN AND IMPROVE ALL ASPECTS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, FROM PREVENTION OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY TO REHABILITATION OF PRISONERS, THE COMMISSION DISTRIBUTES FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDS TO POLICE FORCES, COURT SYSTEMS AND OTHER LOCAL AGENCIES, TO STATE AGENCIES SUCH AS THE DEPARTMENTS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CORRECTIONS, TO UNIVERSITIES, AND OCCASIONALLY TO PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS. THE MONEY IS GRANTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN ANNUAL PLAN FOR COORDINATED STATEWIDE ACTION AGAINST CRIME, PREPARED BY THE COMMISSION AND APPROVED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE.
