Abstract
The manual contains 20 lesson plans that are designed for use as 15-minute segments in roll call training or in combination to provide more class time. Any one lesson plan can be expanded or cut back by the instructor. Each lesson plan begins with one or more student objectives, and discussion questions accompany some lesson plans. Lesson plans focus on such areas as law enforcement and civil liability, acts beyond the scope of authority, constitutional torts, negligence actions, intentional torts, lawsuits, supervisory liability, immunity defenses, excessive force, inmate mistreatment, illegal search and seizure, pretextual and profile stops, failure to act, inadequate training, and employment discrimination. The manual includes an examination and an answer key.
