A case is presented to illustrate the advantage of a flexible and powerful light source, such as the Polilight system, for questioned document examination.
Abstract
The complete impression, a handwritten address and two telephone numbers from a personalized notebook, only became visible when using the arc lamp and specific illumination and observation conditions. Observation was performed while using a 550 nm glass cutoff filter. The details contained in the luminescent impression were a key element in this case as they confirmed the statement made by one of the parties involved. Another laboratory had failed to decipher the impression during three previous examinations. 3 figures
