DISCUSSION OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ORGANIZED CRIME, THE EXTENT TO WHICH THEY EXIST IN EUROPE, AND HOW THEY CAN BE CONTROLLED.
Abstract
THREE TYPES OF ORGANIZED CRIME ARE IDENTIFIED AND DESCRIBED - PREMEDITATED CRIME, PROFESSIONAL CRIME, AND SYNDICATED CRIME. THE AUTHOR CONTENDS THAT ORGANIZED CRIME IN EUROPE STILL FALLS INTO THE CATEGORY OF PROFESSIONAL CRIME AND HAS NOT YET BECOME SYNDICATED. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE THE MEASURES THAT EUROPEAN COUNTRIES SHOULD ADOPT AT THE LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS TO HALT AND/OR ELIMINATE THIS TYPE OF CRIME.
