RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THIS WHICH WAS DESIGNED TO UPDATE THE JUDICIAL WEIGHTED CASELOAD TIME FACTORS AND FREQUENCIES FOR ALL CASE CATEGORIES IN ORDER TO ACCURATELY DETERMINE JUDICIAL STAFF REQUIREMENTS.
Abstract
SINCE 1971, STATUTORY CHANGES, CASE LAW AND LOCAL POLICY DECISIONS OF COURT SUPPORTIVE AGENCIES HAVE HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON JUDICIAL TIME REQUIREMENTS AND HAVE NECESSITATED AN UPDATING OF THE WEIGHTED CASELOAD TIME FACTORS AND FREQUENCIES. THE BACKGROUND, PROJECT OBJECTIVES, STUDY INITIATION, DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTERIZED SYSTEMS, DATA COLLECTION AND PREPARATION, AND DATA ANALYSIS FOR THIS PROJECT ARE DISCUSSED. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR THE WEIGHTED CASELOAD AND JUDGE YEAR VALUES, THE DETERMINATION OF JUDICIAL POSITION NEEDS, AND UPDATING OF THE WEIGHTED CASELOAD VALUES. APPLICATION OF THE WEIGHTED CASELOAD SYSTEM IS ALSO DISCUSSED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
