Abstract
THE BOOKLET BRIEFLY DISCUSSES CAUSES OF CRIME AND THE PURPOSE OF LAW, AND THEN PRESENTS CASE STUDIES WHICH COVER THE CAUSES, SERIOUSNESS, AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS FOR VARIOUS CRIMES SUCH AS PURSESNATCHING, CHILD ABUSE, SUICIDE, ABORTION AND MARIJUANA USE. THESE CASE STUDY SECTIONS, INCLUDING ONE ON VICTIM-OFFENDER RELATIONSHIPS, CONCLUDE WITH A LIST OF QUESTIONS INTENDED TO STIMULATE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT ANALYSIS AND GROUP DISCUSSION OF THOSE CRIME PROBLEMS. SUBSEQUENT SECTIONS PRESENT POSSIBLE CRIME CONTROL MEASURES WHICH COULD BE TAKEN BY THE POLICE, THE PUBLIC, THE GOVERNMENT AND THE COURTS; THESE ALSO INCLUDE QUESTIONS AND EXERCISES TO AID STUDENTS IN INVESTIGATING THE PARTICULAR ISSUES INVOLVED.
