EVALUATION OF THE MASSACHUSETTS PROGRAM, REVEALED SUCCESS OVER A CONTROL SAMPLE ALONG THREE SEPARATE MEASUREMENT PARAMETERS.
Abstract
OVERALL RECIDIVISM RATE OF THE FORESTRY SAMPLE WAS LOWER THAN EXPECTED, WHILE THOSE WHO BECAME RECIDIVISTS TENDED TO STAY OUT SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER THAN RECIDIVISTS FROM THE OTHER THREE MAJOR INSTITUTIONS STUDIED. FINALLY, THE PROPORTION OF THOSE WHO WERE RECOMMITTED FOR AN OFFENSE MORE SERIOUS THAN THAT FOR WHICH THEY WERE ORIGINALLY INCARCERATED APPEARED TO BE QUITE LOW.
