THE TECHNIQUE THAT IS DESCRIBED ILLUSTRATES HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO ADOPT THE LATEX TECHNIQUE FOR SPECIES IDENTIFICATION OF BLOOD TO A MICRO-SCALE ENABLING THE ABO GROUPING TO BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SAME SAMPLE.
Abstract
A MICRO TECHNIQUE IS DESCRIBED WHICH ALLOWS BOTH THE SPECIES IDENTIFICATION (USING SENSITIZED LATEX) AND THE ABO GROUPING OF HUMAN BLOOD (USING AN ABSORPTION-ELUTION TECHNIQUE) TO BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SAME FRAGMENT OF DRIED BLOOD. IT IS DEPENDENT ON THE INSOLUBLE NATURE OF BLOOD-GROUP SUBSTANCES, AS COMPARED WITH THE SOLUBLE NATURE OF SERUM PROTEINS USED FOR SPECIES IDENTIFICATION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
