DESCRIPTION OF THE RICHMOND (CA) POLICE DEPARTMENT'S EFFORTS IN THE AREA OF CRIME PREVENTION, INCLUDING PROGRAMS OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, SPECIAL POLICE TRAINING, AND ACQUIRING THE MOST MODERN CRIME FIGHTING EQUIPMENT.
Abstract
THE PROGRAMS DESCRIBED INCLUDE THE TARGET HARDENING, CITIZEN ALERT, AND PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION PROGRAMS OF THE CRIME SPECIFIC - BURGLARY PROJECT AND METHODS OF IMPLEMENTING THEM. FURTHER BURGLARY PREVENTION PROJECTS, INCLUDING AERIAL PATROL AND AN UPDATED BURGLAR ALARM ORDINANCE ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. THE ROLE PLAYED BY THE DEPARTMENT'S FINGERPRINT EXPERT, AND THE DEPARTMENT'S JUVENILE DIVERSION EFFORTS ARE ALSO BRIEFLY COVERED.
