PROGRAMS DEVELOPED BY THE SALT LAKE CITY SPECIAL POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIVISION TO INVOLVE THE COMMUNITY IN CRIME PREVENTION AND TO IMPROVE POLICE-CITIZEN RAPPORT.
Abstract
THE COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIVISION IS AIDED IN ITS EFFORTS BY AN ADVISORY COUNCIL COMPOSED OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATIONS AND AGENCIES AND A BUSINESSMEN'S EXECUTIVE COUNCIL. THE ONGOING PROGRAMS INCLUDE A DOWNTOWN PREVENTIVE FOOT PATROL, CRIME PREVENTION CENTERS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE CITY, DIVISION TRAINING FOR THE STAFF AND OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS, AND CITYWIDE ATHLETIC LEAGUES FOR YOUTHS.
