Abstract
TO RESPOND EFFECTIVELY TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, THE COMMUNITY SAFETY AGENCY IMPLEMENTED A RADIO SYSTEM ENGINEERED BY GENERAL ELECTRIC. THIS COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE, WHICH OPERATES ON A SPECIAL FREQUENCY, PROVIDES SUPERVISORY CONTROL AT THE DISPATCHER'S STATION AND PERMITS PRIORITY TRANSMISSION OVER MOBILE UNITS. TO MAINTAIN A LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM AND GAIN SUPPORT OF THE YOUTH, THE AGENCY UTILIZES OFFICERS IN YOUTH AND COUNSELING PROGRAMS AND WORKS CLOSELY WITH SCHOOLS, WELFARE AND PROBATION AGENCIES, AND RECREATION DISTRICTS.
