This report presents the second National Policing Improvement Agency's (NPIA's) Business Plan for 2008-2011.
Abstract
A key priority of the 2008-2011 National Policing Improvement Agency's (NPIA's) Business Plan is for the NPIA to lead the production of a 5-year National Policing Improvement Strategy in partnership with ACPO (Association of Police Officers), the APA (Association of Police Authorities), and the Home Office. The strategy will draw on the Green Paper and provide agreed and costed proposals supported by a benefits plan, setting the direction for policing improvement for 5 years ahead (2008-2013). The task remaining for the NPIA is to support the police service in taking forward agreed priorities: implementing the Crime Strategy, building on neighborhood policing, developing workforce modernization, sustaining performance, delivering effective protective services while tackling the threat of terrorism, a review of police information technology, the implementation of many of the Flanagan recommendations, and a substantial number of programs designed to improve policing for the citizenry and a continued range of practical services that support law enforcement agencies on a daily basis.
