Abstract
THE CAMPAIGN BEGAN WITH AN EFFORT TO CONTAIN THE VEHICLE THEFT PROBLEM. A PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN WAS CONDUCTED TO BRING ALL THE FACTS OF THE VEHICLE THEFT SITUATION TO PUBLIC ATTENTION IN AN IMAGINATIVE, NEWSWORTHY FASHION, USING PROVEN ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS TECHNIQUES. RESULTS OF THE CAMPAIGN SHOW DRAMATIC DECREASE IN AUTO THEFT RATES OVER CORRESPONDING MONTHS OF THE PAST THREE YEARS.
