TABULATED RESULTS OF A SURVEY IN WHICH 1,274 INMATES OF CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS, BOTH OPEN AND CLOSED, ALL OVER SWEDEN RESPONDED, WITH DESCRIPTION OF THE SURVEY METHODS USED.
Abstract
TWO-THIRDS OF THOSE RESPONDING INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD PREFER TO REMAIN AT THE INSTITUTION WHERE THEY WERE AT THE TIME OF THE SURVEY. THE MAJORITY OF THOSE EXPRESSING THIS PREFERENCE WERE LOCATED IN OPEN INSTITUTIONS. THE SURVEY WAS MADE BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN PROPOSED THAT AN ATTEMPT BE MADE TO LOCATE INMATES IN INSTITUTIONS AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THEIR HOMES IN THE FUTURE. --IN SWEDISH
