RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LENGTH OF INCARCERATION AND PAROLE, BEHAVIOR FOR CALIFORNIA MALE PRISONERS RELEASED IN 1965 AFTER IMPRISONMENT FOR ROBBERY OR BURGLARY.
Abstract
IT WAS FOUND IN THE TWO YEAR FOLLOW-UP THAT THOSE WHO HAD SERVED LESS TIME DID SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER ON PAROLE. SUGGESTIONS ARE MADE FOR FURTHER STUDIES ABOUT PREDICTION OF PAROLE ADJUSTMENT, SELECTION FOR PAROLE, AND THE DETERMINATION OF THE MOST APPROPRIATE LENGTH OF INCARCERATION.
