THIS PAPER EXAMINES THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEVERAL INDEPENDENT VARIABLES, SUCH AS THE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT ON PAPERWORK, AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME A JUVENILE COURT WORKER DEVOTES TO HELPING YOUTH AVOID PREVIOUS MISTAKES.
Abstract
JUVENILE CASEWORKERS COMPLETED QUESTIONNAIRES CONCERNING THE AMOUNT OF TIME PER WEEK SPENT ON DISCUSSING PAST MISTAKES WITH YOUTH AND SPENT ON PAPERWORK. TO DETERMINE MODELING INFLUENCES, THEY WERE ALSO QUESTIONED ON THE CORRESPONDING AMOUNTS OF TIME SPENT BY THEIR SUPERVISORS AND COWORKERS. MULTIPLE REGRESSION OF DATA INDICATED THAT THE TIME SPENT ON PAPERWORK HAS NO INDEPENDENT EFFECT ON TIME SPENT WITH CLIENTS, BUT THAT INTERPERSONAL INFLUENCES, FROM SUPERVISORS AND COWORKERS, DO HAVE CONSIDERABLE IMPACT.
