A STUDY WHICH EXAMINED INMATES' PERCEPTIONS OF THE REHABILITATIVE VALUE OF PAROLE OFFICERS' ACTIVITIES WITHIN A PENITENTIARY.
Abstract
A REHABILITATIVE VALUE PERCEPTION SCALE WAS CONSTRUCTED TO MEASURE PERCEPTIONS OF INMATES AND STAFF. IT WAS FOUND THAT INMATES WHO PARTICIPATED IN GROUP THERAPY OR INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING HAD SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FAVORABLE PERCEPTION OF THE PAROLE OFFICERS' PRISON INVESTIGATION THAN THOSE INMATES WHO REPORTED NO PARTICIPATION. IT WAS ALSO FOUND THAT THE PERCEPTION OF INMATES WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS OF THE PENITENTIARY WAS AS FAVOURABLE AS THAT OF STAFF. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT) --SUMMARY IN FRENCH
